CCNA Routing and Switching, CCENT/ICND1 & ICND2

Exam Information & Practice Tests

CCNA Prerequisite

There is no official prerequisite for CCNA Routing and Switching exam, but any networking certification will be very helpful in grasping new networking concepts.

CCNA Certification Options

In the U.S. and Canada, exams may be scheduled up to six weeks in advance. This policy may vary in other countries. There are two paths for CCNA certification: Composite exam path and two-step path. Details are given below.

Composite CCNA Exam

CCNA 200-125

New composite CCNA v3.0 exam.

Two-step path to CCNA

CCENT/ICND1 100-105
ICND2 200-105
New ICND1 v3.0 exam

New ICND2 v3.0 exam

Note: Existing CCENT certified individuals can achieve CCNA R&S certification by passing ICND2 200-105 or CCNA composite 200-125 exams.

CCNA Recertification

CCNA certification is valid for three years. To recertify, pass the current certification exam or any new exam at the Professional level or Cisco Qualified Specialist level exam.

Our Recommendation

The easier way is the two-step path to CCNA but you have to spend more money and attempt two exams. Composite CCNA exam is recommended for those who have previous experience in the field of networking. Specifically, if you know subnetting, VLANs, RSTP, EIGRP, OSPF, FHRP, IPv6, DHCP, NAT, SNMP, Syslog and WAN protocols, you can select the composite CCNA path.
