CCNA 200-120, ICND1 100-101 & ICND2 200-101

Exam Information & Practice Tests

CCNA Prerequisite

There is no official prerequisite for CCNA exam, but any networking certification will be very helpful in grasping new networking concepts.

CCNA Certification Options

In the U.S. and Canada, exams may be scheduled up to six weeks in advance. This policy may vary in other countries. There are two paths for CCNA certification: Composite exam path and two-step path. Details are given below.

Composite CCNA Exam

CCNA 200-120

Composite CCNA exam.

Two-step path to CCNA

CCENT/ICND1 100-101
ICND2 200-101
CCENT is the entry level Cisco exam.
ICND2 exam.

CCNA Recertification

CCNA certification is valid for three years. To recertify, pass the current certification exam or any new exam at the Professional level or Cisco Qualified Specialist level bearing the prefix 642 e.g. ROUTE 642-902.

In future one of the two-step CCNA exams (100-101 or 200-101), will recertify your CCNA. Please check for further details.

Our Recommendation

The easier way is the two-step path to CCNA but you have to spend more money and attempt two exams. Composite CCNA exam is recommended for those who have previous experience in the field of networking. Specifically, if you know subnetting, VLANs, RSTP, EIGRP, OSPF, FHRP, IPv6, NetFlow, SNMP, Syslog and WAN protocols, you can select the composite CCNA path.
