I think in this case the dual antennas don't matter since they are on the transmitting device.  Having dual antennas gives you a better chance not to be in a spot where you receive signals that arrive out of phase, with troughs and crests cancelling each other out.  It's unlikely that both antennas would be in such a spot, so it's better to have 2 antennas than 1.
