The question makes sense until you actually look at the commands.  Do the switches even have the option of adding the vlan and "native' after the "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q"?  All of my references and experience tell me that to set the native vlan on the trunk (on a switch), you use the "switchport trunk native vlan <vlan-id>" command. Thanks

yeah the example seems to be incorrect. if the additional command set was shown this would make sense.
