Doubts about correct answers in question N226 (VLAN id tagging)
#1
Hello,

I'm learning for CCNA re-certification (ICND2 640-816).

I'm not really happy with answers for N226:

You are configuring a catalyst switch with VLAN information that
must be automatically distributed to other catalyst switches in the network. What
conditions must be met in order for the VLANs to be configured on the other switches?
(Choose three)

A. The switches must be configured to use the same VTP version.
B. The switches must be configured to use the same type of ID tagging.
C. The switches must be configured to use the same STP version.
D. The switch that will share the VLAN information must be configured as the root bridge.
E. The switch that will share the VLAN information must be in the VTP Server mode.
F. The switches must be in the same VTP domain.

Correct Answer:
The switch that will share the VLAN information must be in the VTP Server mode.
The switches must be in the same VTP domain.
The switches must be configured to use the same VTP version.

IMHO Answer B should/must also be correct ?!?

Any ideas ? What do you think ?

On new Cisco switches, you dont have to specify if its isl or dot1q because 802.1q is the only option. ISL is being phased out by Cisco.

Hello Hondabuff,

this would make sense. Maybe I didn't understand the question accurately - I'm not a native English speaker  Wink

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.  Smile
