Just passed ICND1, was not as hard as I thought. They threw me a curve ball by putting a hard question as my 1st question and throwing me off my game. Even thought I passed time to move on to the ICND2.

I believe the question with the subnet 255.255.254.0 is class B
The correct answer is:
186.54.3.0
175.33.4.255
152.35.36.0
26.35.2.255
why 26.35.2.25 is part of the correct answer i did not get it?
Thanks

I had the following sims:
Ospf stub
Eigrp/ISIS redistribution
IPv6 Virtual Link
EIGRP Simlet
H2P only had the EIGRP simlet in their test engine, not sure if they can replicate the other sims, I didn't have much trouble with those. I would say out of the 61 questions probably only 25-30 were covered in H2P. I noticed that the questions hadn't been update on H2P since last year. It seemed I got alot of route manipulation questions on my test, a fair amount of multicast, very little IPv6 and rest was spread pretty evenly on the other topics.
Used the Cisco Press BCSI book, and H2P. This was the most difficult of the 4 tests I have taken for my CCNP.

I passed the CCNA exam yesterday with a 930 score with about 20 mins to spare. This is my 2nd try but I know the reason why i failed on the 1st try. I highly recommend How2pass because there were quite a few questions that were similar to How2pass. I dont think I would've scored as high without all the practice questions, simlets and simulations that this practice does. I will definitely be using How2pass for future tests. If anyone is thinking of taking the exam, I suggest that you score high or master all the questions for How2pass and understand the explanations because this will help in your decision making if the question isnt exact.
thanks again for How2pass

View the exhibit. An organization connects two locations, supporting two VLAN's, through the switches shown. Inter-VLAN communication is not required. The network is working properly and there is full connectivity. The organization needs to add additional VLAN's, so it has been decided to inplement VTP. Both switches are configured as VTP server in the same VTP domain. VLANs added to Switch1 are not learned by Switch2 based on this information and the partial configurations in the exhibit, what is the problem?
A. The links between the switches are access links
B. STP has blocked one of the links between the switches, limiting connectivity
C. A router is required to route VTP advertisments between the switches
D. VTP is Cisco propietary and requires a different trunking encapsulation
E. Switch2 should be configured as a VTP client
The answer is A. The links between the switches are access links
But I am confused, the question states the network is working properly and there is full connectivity. Doesn't that mean that the VLAN's can talk to each other across the switches and that trunking is already configured? Also in the exhibit is shows two ports have: Administrative Trunking Encapsulation: dot1q. What does that mean, I thought it to mean those links are configured as trunks. And since trunking negotiation is off, both sides should be configured as a trunk for "full connectivity"
I understand why the other answers are wrong, STP won't block a VTP advertisment on both links; we're not trying to add a L3 device, VTP is propietary but the question mentions nothing of non-cisco equipment; and changing a switch from server to client won't force it to take a VTP update. I thought more likely the rev number might be higher on the switch receiving the update. But that choice isn't there.
Thank You in advance

I'm going to start my study for this exam and as always, I want the official Cisco study guide to get the ball rolling. However, on Amazon there seems to be a few different versions.
Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI): Authorized Self-study Guide (CCNP Self-study) (Hardcover) - Diane Teare and Catherine Paquet.
CCNP BSCI Official Exam Certification Guide (Hardcover) - Brent Stewart
Which to go for?

I have a question about links between network devices with two different physical speeds and what the STP cost is. In the example it shows a Gig link and an Fe link on the same network segment. Is the STP cost what ever the highest cost interface allows. So if you have a Gig and an Fe on the same link the cost will be 19?
The answer hints at this but does not explicitly say so.
Thanks in advance
