QID:BCM420 ADMIN: please give a source of the answer
Posted by: uno4 - 04-25-2009, 03:29 PM - Forum: CCNP SWITCH 300-115 - Replies (1)

refer to question QID:BCM420: Which two statements are true about the required switch configurations to support a voice VLAN?

1) Static secure MAC addresses should be configured on voice vlan ports to
prevent access by devices other than IP phones.

2) CDP must be disabled on the switch port to prevent interference between
      CDP messages and voice traffic.

3) 802.1x authentication cannot be configured on a port configured for a voice vlan.

4) CDP must be enabled on the switch port to allow configuration information to be passed to the IP phone.

5) Portfast must be enabled on the switch port.

6) Port security cannot be configured on a port that is configured for a voice vlan.

Correct Answer: 4) CDP must be enabled on the switch port to allow configuration information to be passed to
                                the IP phone.
                            5) Portfast must be enabled on the switch port.

ADMIN: Can you give a source for the 2nd answer 5) please? I couldn't find any hint of that. Neither in CCNP BCMSN Official Exam Certification Guide (Fourth Edition), David Hucaby
nor in the curriculum Network Academy Program "BCMSN".

Thanks

QID: BCM494 Missing one correct answer?
Posted by: uno4 - 04-25-2009, 12:17 PM - Forum: CCNP SWITCH 300-115 - No Replies

Your correct answer is 2) only, but your explanation says 2) and 4) are correct, why?

(QID:BCM494) Which statement is true about the data traffic between the access point and controller?

1) The data traffic is switched at the access point before being sent to the
WLAN controller where VLAN tagging and OoS are applied.

2) The data traffic is encapsulated with LWAPP.

3) The data traffic is encrypted with AES.

4) The data traffic between the access point and controller is not encrypted.

Correct Answer: The data traffic is encapsulated with LWAPP.
Explanation:

The control traffic between the access point and the controller is encapsulated with LWAPP. The control traffic is encrypted via the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).

The data traffic between the access point and controller is also encapsulated with LWAPP. The data traffic is not encrypted. It is switched at the WLAN controller, where VLAN tagging and quality of service (QoS) are also applied.

QID:BCM379 the correct answer refers to the wrong switch
Posted by: uno4 - 04-25-2009, 11:25 AM - Forum: CCNP SWITCH 300-115 - Replies (3)

refer to question QID:BCM379 View the exhibit. VLAN 1 and VLAN 2 are configured on the trunked links between switches SW1 and SW2. Port Fa0/2 on SW2 is currently in a blocking state for both VLANs. What should be done to load balance VLAN traffic between SW1 and SW2?

Your Correct Answer: Lower the port priority for VLAN 1 on port 0/2 for SW1.

In my opinion the correct answer should be: Lower the port priority for VLAN 1 on port 0/2 for SW2.

Any other comments?

A host with the address of 192.168.125.34/27 needs to be denied access to all hosts outside its own subnet. To accomplish this, complete the command in brackets, [access-list 100 deny protocol address mackany], by draggin the appropriate options on the left to their correct placeholders on the right

Now what How2Pass states is correct is the following:
Protocol      IP
address      192.168.125.34  ---- here is where I have a problem  I placed 192.168.125.32
mask          0.0.0.0

Now the question clearly states "needs to be denied access to all hosts outside its own subnet" -- the subnet for this host is 192.168.125.32 through 192.168.125.48.

This lead me to the conclusion that address of the access-list had to be its entire network. How am I misinterpreting this question?

(By the way I have run across a couple of these and decided what the heck let me grab the competitions stuff and give it a whirl, dare I say, pass4sure. Believe me, the grammar is awful. You practically need an interpreter to follow their questions... I think it is awful... but, if I fail the exam I get my money back... personally, I would say for those that have posted about them on this site, to the rest save your money) which I don't want to fail the exam, so... I will be posting questions in this last two weeks before I take the 802 exam) :o

  Passed with a 944
Posted by: olsonc58 - 04-17-2009, 07:13 PM - Forum: CCNP ENARSI 300-410 - Replies (2)

I completely missed the first lab on IPV6 virtual links. I was ready but in my nervous haste, I clicked the Next button thinking it would bring me to the screen with the command line. Sadly, it moved me to the next question. I tried to get the proctor to reset but she had to call Cisco. She was on the phone for 20 minutes. All they would do was give me my lost time back. Anyway, How2Pass was right on for most of the questions. There were a few oddball questions on multicasting and ISIS. My only advise....try to relax and go slow with the labs. Good luck to all of you!

Passed with 914... But not too happy about it
Posted by: rquimson - 04-13-2009, 07:10 PM - Forum: CCNP SWITCH 300-115 - No Replies

I passed the test but there was about 5-6 questions that I've never seen before here in H2P. Most of the new questions are wireless and I had to skip the STP(Which I've never seen before also) Sim because I was running out of time and kinda confused on how to solve it.

H2P really need to update their BCMSN !!!
